Grateful for a wonderful connection

The 27th AFCC National Conference was a wonderful 3 days of inspiration, connection & JOY!

I feel incredibly grateful to have been invited to hold some space in hui (yarns) with fellow speakers that have so much wisdom in their own arts.

Special connections made with Wendy Haynes a family celebrant for 27 years. Author, yoga teacher, mentor and wise woman.

Thank you to Doris Zagdanski that shares over 40 years experience in the field of grief education & supporting grieving people. Author, mentor, leader, celebrant and all round wonderful human.

The Guest speaker Li Cunxin AO started our day one in “The Power of Story” A journey of courage, of hope, of family & work ethic. Li’s autobiography “Mao’s Last Dancer” was published in 2003 & made into a blockbuster film 2009, winning several international prestigious awards. In the 2019 Birthday Honours, Li was appointed officer (AO) of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the performing arts, particularly to ballet, as a dancer and artistic director.

I have come away from this conference feeling inspired in the seasons to come as a Civil Celebrant to serve my community.

I am grateful.
